Today, we gain insights into how we can excel and handle ourselves when everything is changing.

  1. Respond instead of react…The 4 Ps
    a. Pause
    b. Process
    c. Plan
    d. Proceed
  2. Non-dual thinking – It’s not this OR that. It’s this AND that. E.g., self-discipline and self-compassion
  3. Core values
    a. Life is doing of life – e.g., activities, health, workouts, showing up
    b. Life is being of life – family, being there for most important people
  4. Hard times are always hard. But, with practice, they get easier.
  5. Five questions for embracing change:
    a. How can you open yourself to the possibility?
    b. In what parts of life are you holding on to unrealistic expectations?
    c. Are there elements of your identity to which you cling too tightly?
    d. How can you use your core values to help navigate challenges of life?
    e. In what circumstances do you tend to react when you should respond?
  6. Progress is non-linear. Keep pounding the stone. Some days, nothing happens. Some days, it cracks a little bit more.
  7. Daily practices for physical and mental well-being:
    a. 45 to 90 mins of physical activity
    b. At least one deep-focus block of 60 to 90 mins on good, meaningful work.
    c. Do not fight evening sleepiness. That means bed by 10 pm.
  8. Don’t define yourself by what you have. Define yourself by who you are.
